Risk Assessments Overview
A Risk Assessment is a systematic process of identifying hazards, determining the risks those hazards present and implementing suitable controls to ensure the hazards do not cause injury or harm.
Risk Assessments can be done on:
- Machinery/Equipment
- Tools
- General Hazards
Risk Assessments are conducted on occasion when there is either a new process, new machine/tool, or a change to a process or machine/tool meaning the risks and controls need to be reviewed.
If you need to complete a Risk Assessment on a task on a frequent basis, there is a Task Risk Assessment (Take 5) template located under checklists which is more suitable than the templates provided under Risk Assessments.
